Artist statement:
From the outset of my professional journey, I have actively engaged with the LGBTQI community. I dedicated my time as a volunteer for the amfAR Foundation in Madrid and Paris and also contributed to prominent Queer Magazines such as Zero and Orientaciones in Spain. My artistic creations have graced the pages of numerous books and publications, sharing space with icons like Tom of Finland and David Hockney, as well as esteemed writers such as José Saramago, Rafael Alberti, and Leopoldo Alas. Additionally, I played a role in editing the magazine SIGNOS.
Bio:
As a visual artist, Daniel collaborates with galleries worldwide and has showcased his work at renowned Art Fairs like ART Basel and ARCO Madrid. His artistic contributions have been highlighted at major solo exhibitions in diverse locations such as Cuba, India, Spain and Switzerland (ICAM, Geneva). Notably, he was selected to participate in PHotoESPAÑA in 2018, 2020, and 2021. Daniel’s creative influence extends beyond traditional art spaces, as he played a pivotal role in designing Bakunin’s gravestone in Bern on behalf of the Dadaists associated with the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. His artistic presence is prominent in esteemed collections and museums, including the Geneva Museum, the National Library Madrid, the Concorcio Toledo, the Madrid Metro Collection, and the Kunstsammlung des Bundes in Switzerland, among others.
